How to I register for the course and exam?

When and where are your exam & course sessions?

All of our course and exam offerings are listed on the course and exam tab. All of our in person course & exam sessions are 8 hours; 6 hour course, 2 hour exam. Exam only sessions are 2 hours. Most of our courses and exams are scheduled on weekend dates in and around Western North Carolina.

What is ServSafe® Manager Certification ?

The ServSafe® program provides food safety training, exams and educational materials to foodservice managers. The State of North Carolina requires that all food service operations have at least one PIC (person in charge) at all times who is certified in food safety through an ANSI program such as ServSafe® Manager Certification.

How does the exam work?

Exams are issued on a scantron official ServSafe® testing form in English. Exams are 90 questions, and you will have up to 2 hours to complete the exam. You must achieve at least a 70 to pass the exam. Exam results are available online at www.servsafe.com within 5-10 business days. How does the course work?

The course is approximately 6 hours and incorporates power point presentations, videos, group discussions, case studies, practice quizzes and interactive learning. The course follows the ServSafe® 8th edition text book and covers everything you’ll need to know to pass the exam.

Do I need the text book?

The ServSafe® Coursebook, 7th & 8th Edition are both great resources for those who are extra eager to learn or feel like they need extra resources. We do not require students to obtain the text book for our course. Text books can be purchased directly from the ServSafe® website www.servsafe.com

What is provided on the day of the course/exam?

Students are provided with exam sheet and number 2 pencils. We recommend students bring a notebook, water, coffee and snacks. 45 minutes is provided for lunch, food is not provided however all our course and exam locations are in central areas near restaurants or feel free to pack a lunch.

Does Food Safety Education Group LLC offer courses online?

Yes, we offer instructor lead 6 hour online webinars that cover everything you will need to pass the ServSafe® Manager Certification exam. We do not offer online exams, All exams administered through Food Safety Education Group LLC must be done in-person.

Does Food Safety Education Group LLC offer discounts for large groups?

Does Food Safety Education Group LLC come to my location for course and exam sessions.

Yes, for groups larger than 3 people we will come to your restaurant or food service establishment and provide private sessions. Contact us via email at nick@foodsafetyed.com or call 828-215-0741 for more information.

What is the re-testing policy?

We are one of the only ServSafe® course and exam companies that offers Free re-testing for students who take our course. We believe so strongly in our course approach and your success that we offer Free re-testing if you do not pass the exam on your first attempt. Students are required to re-take the course to be eligible for Free re-testing. Students who fail the exam on their second attempt will be required to re-register for the full course and exam and pay the $129 registration fee. No more than 4 attempts are permitted in a 12-month period.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds are only issued if the course or exam is cancelled by us “Food Safety Education Group LLC”. If you are unable to attend a course or exam session, please contact us via email nick@foodsafetyed.com or call 828-215-0741 at least 24 hours before your scheduled course and/or exam. We will issue credit for you to take the course and/or exam at a different time. Refunds are not issued for failing the course exam. Refunds are not issues you do not complete the course i.e leave early or leave before the exam on the day you are scheduled to take it. Refunds are not issued if you violate ServSafe® exam terms or conditions such as cheating attempting to cheat on the exam or any other term or condition provided to you on the exam session.
